The Pillar Collection
A Pillar Candle is a rigid, free standing candle with a hard outer shell that helps the candle maintain its’ shape when it is lit. Traditionally Pillar candles were round but now I make them as round, square, hexagonal and in different heights. I can make these candles in unscented or scented (10 scents to choose) and usually in White or can produce a candle in 11 different colours. Pillar candle arrangements add a stylish touch when placed in non-functioning fireplaces, or they can be placed on candle stands, glass containers or in decorative holders for a striking, sophisticated look
Combine a Pillar Candle with a Glass Pillar Plate and you have a thoughtful and affordable gift for any occasion!
Did you know that candles have a memory?
When burning a pillar for the first time, it is important to give it a “memory burn”. You should burn the candle for 1 hour for each inch of its diameter. Example: a candle 3″ in diameter should be burned for three hours to establish its “memory”.
This will allow your pillar to establish a full melt pool (Increasing the scent throw) and leave a shell about 5-10mm thick, so no wax can drip over the sides. This helps you to enjoy your entire candle while saving you from that dreaded dripping candle as well!
What will happen if I don’t give my candle a proper ‘memory Burn’?
If your pillar candle is burned for a short period of time, it will ‘Core Burn’ down the center and a good scent throw cannot be achieved. If your pillar candle is burned for longer than the recommended time, it may burn the outer edges and drip on to your furniture.
